“Signs of Shalom”

If you found your way to this website because of our “signs of shalom,” welcome!

We’re glad you found us. In Hebrew, Arabic, English and Spanish we wish you, peace. Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace, but it means more than the absence of conflict. Shalom means: God, creation, and all creatures webbed together in right relationship and mutual delight.

These signs are little reminders that what God wants and what we would bear witness to is shalom. We pray for and seek shalom for our neighbors, shalom for strangers, sojourners, and refugees, shalom for creation, shalom for those with broken spirits or mental illness, shalom for families, and shalom for those of other faith traditions. In our experience, Jesus Christ embodies, teaches, and accomplishes God’s will for shalom.

These signs serve to remind us and wish for others, shalom. We are a church on 151st in Oak Forest, Illinois; you’re invited to join us in our commitment to shalom for all people. We worship at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, please join us. Shalom to you.
