Hope and PADS ~ 1st Saturday night each month

PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) provides shelter for the homeless from October to April. On the first Saturday of each month we (Hope) prepare and serve a dinner when PADS is open at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oak Forest. Our work typically involves a group of four (three people plus a Deacon who knows what to do….). We meet at Hope at 6:00-6:15 to prepare the food and bring it to Redeemer at 7:15 for 7:30 dinner. After serving dinner we clean up the kitchen and pack up any left over food. We are finished by 8:30. The night is still young. Sign up sheet is on the Kiosk in Fellowship Hall. If you have any questions, talk to or email: Evelyn Bussema .

Hope Serves Lunch and Breakfast in Roseland

The Deacons have recently paired up with Roseland Christian Ministries to provide soup and sandwich lunches once a week for the community RCM serves. We are looking for people to help us shop for groceries and/or deliver them to RCM.

Or! Or, if making soup is your thing, we would love to provide them with homemade soup. Contact Kelly Steiner at if you are able to support this new effort.

There are a few faithful folks serving breakfast at Roseland on the third Sunday morning each month. The Deacons are always looking to add to that group. If you and a few friends would be interested in serving, please contact Wally Ottenhoff at  or sign up at the kiosk in the fellowship hall.

You may find additional service projects listed on Hope's "Calendar" page.
